Therapist - Monongalia County
Job Description:
The therapist provides therapeutic intervention and care throughout the client’s attendance in the program. The
expectations for therapists include retaining a caseload of clients. A therapist must maintain 25 clinical hours
(e.g., providing therapy, treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, outreach events, and continuing
education) per 40-hour work week. The therapist will possess the necessary skills to be empathetic, make clients
feel that their needs are being met, and ensure that treatment goals are met to retain the caseload.
Experience:
-Completion of a Regionally Accredited Master’s Program in Clinical Field of Study required
-2+ years of experience in a therapist role preferred
-Active participation in acquiring an independent license to perform therapy in West Virginia.
-Provisional License (counselor) or Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) required within 90 days of employment
-Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) strongly preferred
-Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) strongly preferred
-Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) strongly preferred
-Knowledge of SUD and recovery, including 12-step program principles, is strongly preferred.
-Certification in Addiction Counseling (ADC/AADC) is strongly preferred
-CPR certification is required.

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist needs to engage in direct outreach to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
These engagements include regular phone and face to face interactions, collecting and recording data, working in a fast-paced team approach. Applicant must be non-judgmental and open to multiple pathways to recovery and must pass random drug/alcohol screen.
