This 6-hour ethics-specific training is designed for Peer Recovery Support Specialists and Addiction Counselors. West Virginia Sober Living Solutions is an approved training provider through the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction & Prevention Professionals.

PRSS The Basics Course

May 6th-June 17th

This 49-hour Peer Recovery Support Specialist training approved by the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction Prevention Professionals is an excellent opportunity to gain the education hours needed for state certification. We will dive deeply into ethical responsibilities, advocacy and campaigning, wellness and recovery support, and mentoring and education. The training will meet through a Zoom platform for seven consecutive weeks (every Tuesday) from May 6, 2025, to June 17, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The training is $300.00.

Rally for Recovery Golf Tournament

Mark your calendars! The annual Rally for Recovery golf tournament is June 14 at 9 a.m. at Lakeview Golf Resort. This golf tournament benefits West Virginia Sober Living Solutions, a Morgantown nonprofit providing clinical and supportive care to individuals with substance use disorders as well as other mental health conditions. The event is currently seeking sponsors and golf teams. 2024 Day of Service

We had the honor of celebrating our 11th anniversary by completing service projects in the Morgantown and Charleston communities for the Volunteer WV Day of Service. More than simply a milestone, WVSL Solutions continues its tradition of giving back with this service to the local community.
“All too often, we see the poor outcomes of substance use disorder; however, there are many West Virginians in our communities who maintain long-term recovery. We show that recovery is possible when we give back to our communities who supported us in our recovery process. Having a beautiful community takes action, and we are proud to be a small part of ensuring these organizations and those they serve have an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and the tools needed to impact the lives of others,” says Jon Dower, WVSL Solutions’ Executive Director.

Free Naloxone Day/ Save A Life Day

WVSL Solutions will be participated in “Save A Life” Day on September 26th, 2024.

Save A Life Day is the country’s largest annual free naloxone day – its footprint grows bigger every year. The goal is to distribute as much life-saving Narcan (aka naloxone) as possible to the people who need it the most while building an unstoppable grassroots movement to end the overdose crisis. This year all states East of the Mississippi River are invited to participate. 

We hosted popup naloxone distribution sites as well as distributing harm reduction/recovery resources, anti-stigma materials, fentanyl/xylazine test strips.
